Due to a busy schedule and some laptop issues on Kerry’s part, we have decided to put the site on hold. You can probably expect to see it happen toward the end of the school year in May, or during the summer! It’s definitely not off the table completely; we plan to make it happen as soon as possible.

Prompt #2

Quick Prompts:

• Create a picspam or edit of your characters close relationships, and briefly explain them.
• Create a picspam or edit that fancasts your characters family members, and briefly explain their relationships.
• Create a playlist about a relationship between your character and another.

Other Prompts:

• Write your character’s ‘origin story’. If they are not a super write about a defining moment, and how it shapes their current outlook on life.
• Write about how your character’s first use of their power (if they have one).
• Write a scene from your character’s life that took place at another point in that character’s life (e.g if they’re an adult, write a scene about when they were a teenager).
• Write a scene detailing their first exposure to superheroes/supervillains.

Hey guys! Me and Cassie have chatted, and seeing we’ve been fairly busy this weekend we’ve decided we’ll probably open the week after next! Just so we can get everything well and prepared for the opening.

Opening date status

Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of activity, but here’s a bit of news for you. I (Cassie) work Tuesday-Thursday, as well as the weekend, but I would really love to open this following week. I wanted some opinions on whether or not a Monday February 4th date would work for you guys, or perhaps even a Sunday evening? (It would be after 5pm, when I get home from work.) If we can’t make the monday date, how awful are weekday opening days for you guys in general? Would you mind it/be able to get a jump start on your characters, or would it be a pain? I still have to run this by Kerry as we haven’t talked in a bit now, but I really want to make this happen because I feel as though you guys have been waiting long enough. ;)

Anonymous asked: Are non-canon superteams allowed too? Like if I had a character who wanted to build a Birds-of-Prey-esque squad would that be alright as long as it didn't include too many members?

Not exactly. We will probably be adding teams in the future, but we want them to form organically on their own; like you know, solo superheros will of course band together every now and then. If we see some potential, we’ll take it from there but for now there are only the 2 teams. There will not be any wanted ads for non-canon teams allowed. 

A Guide To: Points

What are points? Points are a sort of ‘currency’ we’ll be using on The First Punch so people can buy some really cool things, some of these include, extra powers, bringing a character back from the dead and so on.

How do I get points? Simply by posting! You get 5 points for every post you make on any of the boards (which tottles up to quite a lot if you think about it!). We will be running other competitions and site events so you’ll be able to collect more of these.

What about before the site opens? Well, we thought it would be cool if you could gain more points before the site opens so you can get things like extra powers when you first sign up! All you need to do is tag your posts with tfp points, which will be your ‘evidence’ to show the admins at the end. Please keep a tab on your own accumulative point count.

Activities which get you 5 points each:

• Reblog any of The First Punch’s adverts. You can only do this twice for each individual advert.
• Post a character blurb.
• Post any edit (including gifs, gifsets, picspams, etc.) in the tag.
• Completing any prompts set by us.

Activities which get you 15 points each:

• Directly referring (basically getting someone to join the site/follow the blog) an individual. To get these points you’ll need to directly message The First Punch blog, then give us the name and link to the individual referred!

Remember to tag your posts tfp points or they won’t be counted.

Mostly just have fun! We’ll be revamping the blog soon and be hitting you with lots of new updates and a new predicted open date soon. Remember to message us if you have any questions!

Prompt #1

Starting with something simple, but two choices:

• Write the day after S-Day from your character’s point of view. This certainly doesn’t have to be tragic on their part, considering most of the city was evacuated/forced out of the general area of the fight. (For the most part.) However, it surely had an emotional impact of some sort, no matter how mild, on every citizen.

• Write about a typical day in your character’s life. Include emotions (or lack of), daily struggles, people who are heavily involved in their life. Anything you can think of. 

We are also suggesting, for prompts that require less time and are simpler:

• Create a playlist for your character, complete with album art. You could host it on 8tracks if you’d like
• Create a few outfits for your character. You can use links or polyvore, or make something up in photoshop, or find photos of your character that you think most accurately describe their usual attire
• Find photos of your character’s home/put together a home by finding photos of rooms. Keep in mind your character’s social/money status, and that the location is New York City

So we’re thinking about periodically posting character prompts. This was an idea we’d decided to roll with in the beginning, and we were planning on releasing them a bit later but due to a kind suggestion in the askbox, we may release them sooner! We were wondering if you guys liked the idea of prompts, and if you had any suggestions for anything else! Anything at all. We love hearing from you guys.
